CLASSROOM INTERACTION ANALYSIS IN INDONESIAN EFL SPEAKING CLASS

Speaking is a
complicated skill and needs a long time to develop. In EFL Classroom, classroom
interaction seems difficult to use since EFL students have common native
languages. Classroom interaction plays significant role, first it increases
students’ knowledge of language, second it strengthen relationship among them
and teachers. To analyze interaction during speaking class, FLINT system was
used. Aspects to be analyzed are teacher talk and student talk. Teacher talk
includes teacher’s explanation, feedback, ask question, so on. Students talk
includes students’ response, silence and confussion. The researcher used case
study to collect the data. The result, during interaction in EFL class, teacher
facilitates students to speak with several speaking activities such as class
discussion, presentation, simulation and communication games, and the students
have more opportunity to speak and interact in EFL speaking class.
